Conero’s Two Sisters beach, a promonitory located on the Adriatic coast of Italy, consists primarily of large limestone sand grains formed from marine sediment during the Jurassic period. The coastal area beaches are backed up by limestone cliffs and associated landslides. The “Due Sorelle” (Two Sisters), two white rock stacks, are a prominent feature emerging from the deep blue and turquoise sea. Le Due Sorelle beach is accessible only by sea.
Geographic Overview
The Conero Peninsula is a stunning coastal region in the Marche region of central Italy along the shores of the Adriatic Sea. Sea and wind erosion have sculpted the Conero coastline, creating coves, gulfs, and beaches. The promontory itself is the core of the Conero Natural Park, and the cliffs provide a dramatic backdrop to the coast.
