This low magnification shows a spectrum of smoothly worn sand grains including off-white and tan fragments of quartz and feldspar, mottled black and gray fragments of fine grained metamorphic rock, and reddish-brown geological sand grains. Some white fragments of mollusk shell are present as well as a worn white foram at 11 o’clock and a light tan sea urchin spine fragment with worn linear grooves to the right of center.

Red, green, brown and black fragments comprise the predominately volcanic sand in this sample. A bright white square mollusk shard is present left of center and to the right of several smooth-edged and worn opaque white shell fragments.

This colorful spectrum features predominately sand grains of geological origin with occasional fragments of white and translucent white mollusk fragments. The mottled coloration of the geologic grains is consistent with metamorphic and igneous rock and the smooth yellow-tan grains are most likely feldspar.

A large irregularly shaped large mollusk shell fragment is present in the center and to the right of three tan feldspar grain.  A brightly reflective quartz sand grain is at the lower left. Several other red, brown and mottled gray-black volcanic grains are also present in this sample.

Colorful red, green and black metamorphic and igneous volcanic sand grains show mottling with light and dark inclusions in this sample. A large triangular translucent pale orange fragment is present at the left edge and a smoothly worn opaque shell fragment with brown spots is present to the right of center.

A sharp-edged translucent green quartz grain is near the center of the high magnification view and a smooth-edged pearl-white shell fragment is present at the bottom just left of center.
